Q: Where is The Cherry Blossom Murder set and how did you decide on its setting?
A: It’s set in Japan, partly in Tokyo and partly in a small town in the mountains outside Osaka called Takarazuka, home of the unique and spectacular all-female Takarazuka Revue. The Takarazuka Revue is one of the biggest theatre companies in Japan and yet it’s hardly known in the West, which is why I wanted to write about it…
